Bumped whenever an operation changes this tet, so a Tuple minted earlier can detect that it is stale. Only ever compared for equality against a Tuple's cached copy – no code reads the value itself, and the rollback path decrements it, which is why it is unsigned: the wrap at 0 is defined, where signed underflow would not be.
32 bits, packed next to m_is_removed: the struct is 40 bytes instead of 48, and there are six of them per live tet in the preallocated storage. A slot would have to be modified 2^32 times between a Tuple being minted and checked for that to alias.
